Our Mission
Why This Mission Matters to Me
I grew up in poverty in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. My mom was a single mother working three jobs just to scrape by. We didn’t have much — sometimes, sugar sandwiches were all we had to eat.
No one was there to teach me the discipline of brushing my teeth. I spent countless days and nights crying with excruciating toothaches, unable to get the care I desperately needed. As the years went on, it didn’t get better. I had teeth pulled, scraped together whatever money I could for the bare minimum, and tried to hold on to the dignity of keeping what I had left.
Meanwhile, I had children of my own — and I made sure they never experienced what I went through. Today, they have great smiles, and I couldn’t be more proud.
But my own journey left scars. If you knew all the details of the pain and suffering, you’d understand why I’m so passionate about this mission. The truth is, dental care is out of reach for the working poor living week to week. With bad credit, bills piling up, and families to provide for, it feels impossible to get help for yourself.
So, you suffer in silence.
Years ago, I decided to help others with what little I had — not for recognition, but because I know exactly what they’re going through. I’m sure people saw my pain back then but didn’t step in, either because they felt powerless or didn’t know how.
We can’t solve the world’s oral health crisis overnight. But in our local communities, we can change lives. We can step in and give someone back their smile, their confidence, and a path forward. Because when you restore a smile, you don’t just change a mouth — you change an entire life.
How It Began
Every mission begins with a spark.
For me, that spark came more than eight years ago through an encounter with someone named Will.
I had hired Will to work in my construction company. He was in excruciating pain, and I could see right away that he would never be able to help himself. So I told Will that I would.
We went from dentist to dentist, getting X-rays, searching for a plan, hoping for a discount. Finally, one dentist agreed to help. The treatment plan would take months, with a payment due at each visit. I raised money through my company staff, and together we made it happen.
To witness the change in Will’s life was powerful. His journey no longer had to be held hostage by pain and shame. That moment showed me something I already believed: this mission has to be bigger than me.
That’s how There’s a Will, There’s a Way was born.

The Toothbrush
Our Dental Sword
Every mission has its gear. For us, it's the toothbrush.
It may look ordinary, but it's powerful — a frontline defense against pain, disease, and shame. It's the simplest symbol of health and dignity.
Dentists recommend replacing it every 3 months. For many, that's routine. For others, it's out of reach. That's why we've chosen the toothbrush as our "dental sword." Every purchase protects your health while funding life-changing care for someone who needs it most.

The Power of Many
Our logo tells the story: people from every walk of life, lifting together.
The toothbrush they hold isn't just a tool — it's a symbol of unity, strength, and shared purpose. Alone, one person can't carry the weight of this mission. But together, we can lift it high and change lives.
When you buy a toothbrush, you're not just making a purchase. You're adding your hands to the mission — joining countless others committed to restoring smiles and dignity.
Because when we lift together, there's always a way.
Meet the Founder

Paul Gorman
Founder, There’s a Will, There’s a Way
For more than 8 years, Paul has carried this mission on his own — helping people quietly, out of his own pocket, whenever he saw a need.
Each person reminded him that a smile is more than teeth — it’s confidence, dignity, and hope.
"Where there’s a Will, there’s a Way” isn’t just a name — it’s the truth Paul has lived by. Today, he’s inviting you to join him in turning that vision into a movement.
